The hardest part of traveling is leaving this little boo behind 😍❤️ Before we adopted Sandie, I never understood how people could be so protective of their pets but now I TOTALLY get it! 😭 Sandie has stolen our hearts and the only thing I DISLIKE about travel is leaving her behind. . Where are my other dog lovers at?! Anyone else scroll through photos of your pets when you’re on vacay? 😂 I do 🙋🏼‍♀️ so here’s a random pic of Sandie and her cuteness 🥰
TRAVEL WORKOUTS are hard. It’s never easy to get up early after a late night just to get your workout in, especially when you have a full packed day ahead. It’s not easy packing tons of extra clothes and shoes required for your workouts, and sometimes even equipment (more on that in a sec). It takes planning figuring out “will there be a hotel gym, or is there one nearby I can go to?” But it is SO WORTH IT! When you’re used to working out, your body thrives on it and uses it as fuel and a way to feel good. When I’m traveling, that is when I want to look and feel my best anyways, so working out is KEY! . My best tip is to PLAN AHEAD. If you’re prepared to workout, you are more likely to do it. Here’s how: . 1) Invest in travel equipment. I have a foldable yoga mat, @toneitup sliders, and #tiu booty bands that pack super well. Worst case if there’s no hotel gym, I can always workout in my room! . 2) Do your research. Find out if there’s a gym in the hotel. If not is there one nearby? If so, call them and ask if they allow walk-ins for a fee. Is there an outdoor space you can workout ? If nothing else, plan to workout from your room. . 3) Schedule your workouts. Add them to your travel itinerary so that you know WHEN you’ll have time to get them in. Once you know how long you’ll have and when, plan what types of workouts you’ll be able to do in the space you’re working with. . 4) Pack accordingly. Bring your bigger suitcase and pack extra workout clothes and shoes so you are 100% ready with no excuses! Also bring a moisture bag to pack your sweaty laundry in after (this is KEY!) . 5) don’t be discouraged if it’s not your longest or best workout ever. If space and time is limited - SOMETHING is better than NOTHING! Just get active. . Overall, it’s not EASY or convenient to workout while you travel. Sometimes it’s hard to find the motivation to follow through once you’re there, but if you are prepared with a plan you will be much more likely to stick with it! Here’s me sticking to my plan in our tiny hotel gym. I still got my full run and strength training DONE! 👏🏼💪🏼💪🏼
10 year challenge - 2009 –> 2019 🧡🧡🧡 . So much has changed for me in 10 years.... not only physically but also emotionally! I’m more confident than I ever dreamed I could be and I’m truly happy with ME! I have less health problems than I did then and I’m 10 years OLDER! . Losing weight not only transformed me, but it led me down the career path I have today. I never would’ve dreamed I’d be helping people achieve their health goals because I couldn’t even manage mine. . Change is good - but it doesn’t come without challenge and PUSHING yourself to your limits. There will be ups and downs... there will be times you want to quit, but if you can keep showing up for yourself, I promise you’ll get to where you want to be. . I’m excited to fully launch my running biz in 2020 and can’t wait to see what the next 10 years will bring. ✨
CHICAGO 😍 will always have my ❤️ and later this week we’ll be heading back there for the first time since the marathon. While I’m there, I’ll still be working out and eating healthy 💯💪🏼 and can’t wait to share with you HOW I do it 🙋🏼‍♀️ . I’ve been working hard these last two days and have stuck to my workout and nutrition plan 100%!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The first few days are always the hardest, and I’m proud for powering through. When you eat based on a healthy LIFESTYLE rather than a quick fix diet, you still eat what you love but you also learn to love healthier foods. It’s a great mix that allows you to FEEL YOUR BEST! How can you live your best life if you’re not feeling like your best self?! . I’m not going to let a weekend out of town ruin my progress so I’ll be staying accountable and posting alll about it here. Stay tuned 😘
Don’t let anything stand in the way of your goals, and don’t wait to start working toward them! 💯 . It’s easy to let the holidays be an excuse to put off your goals, but TBH there will always be something that can stand as an excuse! . Lately I’ve been feeling out of whack with my nutrition and it has made me feel tired and uncomfortable in my own skin. I’m tired of it so I’m taking ACTION sooner rather than later. Starting tomorrow I will be on a new meal plan to help me stay on track. I’m excited to share how it’s going with you all, and of course will be logging everything in this book to help me stay accountable. 🙌🏼 . I’m excited to get back on track all while still enjoying the holiday season (just because you’re eating healthy, doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the season 👌🏼) Today I’m ready for a day of meal prepping so I can start strong tomorrow. 👏🏼😍
Black Friday shopping like a boss 😂🙋🏼‍♀️💖 I’m pretty sure I’m one of the only people who still goes in store to shop but what can I say - I like to see it in person! 🤷🏼‍♀️ . Also, because so many people shop online, you can find whatever you want in store and the lines are short. I haven’t waited more than 5 min today! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Annnnnd not to mention then you have the item you want right then and there! It’s a win win win ✨ . Black Friday shopping is my own personal holiday. I spend time with myself, get FULLY into the Christmas spirit, and I have Starbucks in hand of course. It’s a great way to refresh and go into the holiday season excited and ready! Where are my other Black Friday lovers at?! Comment below with the best deal you’ve found so far today! Happy Shopping! 🛍🛍🛍
